ביום חמישי שעבר, 4 בינואר, מונה עו״ד גיל קסטל לכהן כקונסול כבוד של שבדיה בחיפה והצפון.

 

טקס המינוי נערך במשרד החוץ במעמד שגריר שבדיה בישראל, ה.מ. אריק אולנהג, המנהלת המסחרית של השגרירות השבדית, הגב׳ אן קתרין, ראש הטקס במשרד החוץ, השגריר גיל השכל, הגברת אהובה שפילר, ראש צוות מדיניות חוץ, הגברת אביטל גרשון, חטיבת הטקס מאו״ר, ודיקן הסגל הקונסולרי בישראל עו״ד עמיחי עורקבי.

 

גיל הינו דור שלישי למשפחת קסטל שיכהן בתפקיד זה. גיל קסטל משמש כמנכ״ל סוכנות ימית ישראלית סקנדינבית בע״מ שפעילה בישראל בענף הספנות מקום המדינה. 

 

בסוף הטקס, ראש הטקס מר גיל השכל ודיקן הסגל הקונסולרי, מר עמיחי עורקבי, העניקו לדוד קסטל שי בגין שירותו רב השנים כקונסול כבוד של שבדיה משנת 1989 ועד 2024.
